The McDonalds–(above, left to right) Nathan, Jessica, David, and Jordan–reside in Rockford, Illinois, and have been writing and performing together since 2002. Their music is a blend of folk, roots-rock, and pop that holds holds rich emotion and telling melodies. Their first full-length album, 22 Blackbirds, was released May 2008, and they won 2008 Composer of the Year from the Rockford Area Music Industry for the last song on the album, The Winter Moon Is Fading. In fall 2011 two new members, Bryan Bauer (guitar) and Libby Ungs (keys), joined the SR/McDonald crew, and in winter 2012 the band released a single, Made In The USA. All six members are currently working on their sophomore album, Live Life Slow, due to be released early summer 2012.
